Steps

  1. Transfers happen in person at the relevant traffic department.
  2. Number reservation is available via MOI e-services.
  3. Official distinguished-plate sales run through Emirates Auction per emirate.

Safety rules

  1. Never pay before the official transfer is initiated in the government system.
  2. For high-value deals: complete payment at the authority (manager's cheque), or stage it — deposit, then balance after transfer confirmation.
  3. Verify the seller's ownership document with the authority before paying.
  4. The bank account name must match the seller's identity.
  5. Never share OTP codes or UAE Pass credentials — the platform and authorities never ask for them.
