Steps

  1. In person at a Tasjeel centre — both parties together, or via power of attorney. There is no fully digital flow.
  2. Required: IDs, Mulkiya, buyer's insurance, and vehicle inspection if applicable.
  3. Holding a plate without a vehicle is only possible via paid reservation: AED 300 / 6 months or AED 500 / 12 months.
  4. ⚠ If the reservation lapses without renewal, the plate is forfeited.

Safety rules

  1. Never pay before the official transfer is initiated in the government system.
  2. For high-value deals: complete payment at the authority (manager's cheque), or stage it — deposit, then balance after transfer confirmation.
  3. Verify the seller's ownership document with the authority before paying.
  4. The bank account name must match the seller's identity.
  5. Never share OTP codes or UAE Pass credentials — the platform and authorities never ask for them.
