What XX.PLATES is

XX.PLATES is an advertising platform, and nothing more. We let sellers publish an ad for a distinctive car plate, and let buyers browse ads and contact the seller on WhatsApp. We do not sell plates, broker sales, hold plates, value them, or take commission on any deal, and we are not a party to any agreement between a buyer and a seller.

Transfer of plate ownership always happens through the competent government authority in the relevant emirate, and we play no part in it.

Who may use it

You must be 18 or older. Buyers need no account and pay nothing. Sellers must register an account and provide a working WhatsApp number.

Seller obligations

By publishing an ad you confirm that you own the plate or have the right to advertise it, that the published details are accurate, and that the plate is not reserved or in dispute. You alone are responsible for the accuracy of your ad and for complying with the rules that apply in your emirate.

You must not:

• Advertise a plate you neither own nor have the right to advertise.
• Publish misleading details or prices.
• Duplicate the same ad.
• Use the platform for fraud, circumvention, or harvesting other users' data.

The ad fee

Publishing an ad costs AED 50 per ad for one month. The amount is authorised when you submit the ad and captured when it is approved. If the ad is rejected the amount is not captured and the authorisation is released.

Renewal is AED 50 per month. Auto-renewal is opt-in, you switch it on yourself, you can switch it off at any time from your dashboard, and it stops automatically when a plate is marked sold. If you do not renew, the ad leaves the public lists and stays in your account for one-tap reactivation.

The fee buys an advertising service for a physical item sold offline, so it is paid through an external payment processor rather than in-app purchase. Fees are non-refundable once an ad is live, except where the law requires otherwise.

Moderation and removal

Every ad is reviewed before it goes live. We may reject or remove any ad that breaches these terms, and suspend accounts that breach them repeatedly. Anyone — including users without an account — can report an ad, and we aim to respond within 24 hours.

A warning for buyers

Never pay before the official ownership transfer has started at the competent authority. Verify the seller and the plate before paying anything. XX.PLATES does not guarantee any seller, any plate, or any transaction.

Limits of liability

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant the accuracy of user-published ad content or the conduct of any party. We are not liable for loss arising from your dealings with another user, because we are not a party to that transaction. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings or from your account page on the site. See the privacy policy for what is deleted and what is retained.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the UAE courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
